Market Gustoso
I worked on this project as my school project, in my second year at the Academy of Art University.
The concept for this space was “Romantic Chaos.” We had a virtual client for this project, Client Tony wanted this space to be classic and modern, showing his “Farm to table” concept throughout the interiors.
To achieve his goal for this area, I imagined the photography of the picnic space with outdoor string lighting all over the wooden picnic table. But to take this idea into a modern twist, I added the destruction concept to the picnic scene. I imagined shadow as the destructive method for the flooring and mesh ceiling as a destructive method to the ceiling.
I used the word “Romantic” as the keyword to translate into the classic look, and the word “Chaos” as the keyword to lead the design to become into the modern space. The reason I selected these two contrasting words together for this concept was that I believed the chaotic scene could also look romantic when you stop and stare at the chaotic moment. I wanted to play with this irony throughout the space and have this space can provide ultimate shopping experience.
Gustoso means tasty in Italian, I wanted to make this space to become a experiential space where you can take out customer's expression which aligns with the name Market Gustoso.
