5gum project
5 is the brand of sugar-free chewing gum that is manufactured by the Wrigley Company. The name “5” hints at the five human senses. Inspired by 5gum’s current slogan of the “Truth or Dare” concept, I explored design in a theme of showing our hesitation in challenging, what holds us back from challenging ourselves. Gum stuck to the feet shows the hesitation.
To highlight the feature of the gum, I used black color for the most part of the design features and used colors only for the gum to give contrast. To highlight the number 5, I created five lanes for the sprint,5 mannequins running for the sprint, showing 5seconds left for the game and using a ceiling projector to show the video counting down 5seconds.
To highlight the striped graphic pattern on the gum packaging, I used the metal garage door as the texture for the main wall. Two groups of the mannequin, one doing skydiving and the other group doing sprinting, represents their adventurous attitudes.
